Pride Hits Two Homers in 13-5 Win for Albuquerque
Albuquerque center fielder Bill Pride had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the State College Swallowtails, 13-5. The win went to Scott Eiken in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Sam Haydon took the loss. At 7-4, the Cacti have played well so far.

Steve Svehla had a big grand slam home run for the Cacti in the top of the seventh inning. With Albuquerque leading 7-4 and the bases loaded, he sized up a cutter from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Randy McCafferty and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Cacti on top, 11-4.

"We'll pocket this win," said Svehla, "and then go after another."
