Floundering Mustangs Lose 6th Straight
Billings got a terrific performance from pitcher Ricky Maldonado, but it wasn't enough to beat the Fort Worth Cats. Fort Worth won the Cobb Field contest, 4-3. Maldonado threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Bob Epperson earned the win. Ed Newson took the loss for Billings. The Cats keep rolling, raising their record to 10-3.

Fort Worth needed the clutch hitting of Ricky Pimienta to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cats on top, 4-3. For the game, Pimienta had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
