The Fairfield Flash knocked off the Hendersonville Hens, 6-1, in RCL AAA action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Fairfield pitcher and Manhattan, New York, native Gary McPherson had an outstanding performance. McPherson, now 4-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 7, walking 6, and allowing 1 run. Now 12-4, the 2062 Flash have been phenomenal so far.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the fifth inning, but McPherson was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Hendersonville trailing 2-0, McPherson retired Ryan Chitwood, who grounded out.
