Fairfield and Calgary got after it at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Though he had a stellar game, Shawn Kelly could not prevent his team, the Calgary Cowboys, from losing, 7-5, to the Fairfield Flash. Kelly went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win was credited to Rafael Alfaro in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Sergio Montantes took the loss.

Ashenafi Njiru hit a 2-run home run off Sergio Montantes in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Flash ahead, 7-5. In addition to the homer, Njiru had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Fairfield manager Edward Batkin.

With the win, Fairfield improves its record to 14-5.
