Fireballs Show Nerve in Tight 5-4 Win
The Joplin Fireballs topped the Indianapolis Ambition, 5-4, in 10 innings at The Firepit. The game was highlighted by the performance of Joplin pitcher Nate Lefkowitz. Matt Schaller, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The Fireballs are off to a tough start, getting just their 5th win in 22 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Brian Cranston in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Esgro to win the game for Joplin. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Cranston simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
