Fort Worth Drops Calgary, 8-2
|
The Fort Worth Cats thumped the Calgary Hitmen, 8-2, at Mckinley Park. Jake Tovrea was a big reason his team got the win. Tovrea was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The Cats, with just their 6th win in 22 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Steve O'Neill had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Fort Worth catcher hit a 2-run single. That put the Cats in front, 2-0.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said O'Neill.
