Loss Spoils Fine Performance by Fellenz
The Albany Firebirds had to overcome a big game from Astoria shortstop Chris Fellenz to leave Golden Fleece Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-9. Fellenz hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Reliever Pete Forbes picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Josh Wahl took the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was Israel Sanchez.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Bill Dunlap came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Astoria pitcher Josh Wahl, he hit a 3-1 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Albany on top, 10-9.

"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Dunlap.

The Argonauts fall to 8-11 and continue their sputtering start to the 2063 season.
