Petrich Homers Twice in 5-4 Caterpillars Win
|
The Peoria Caterpillars handed the Calgary Kodiaks a 5-4 defeat at Excavatar Park. First Baseman Ben Petrich starred for Peoria. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Jordan Curry closed the game out for Peoria, earning his 6th save. At 15-6, the Caterpillars have played well so far.
Second Baseman Mark Coppage made an impact for Peoria, when he swatted a 2-run double off Roberto Orellana in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Coppage was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
Peoria manager Leonard Lee was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
