The inspired effort of Indianapolis first baseman Rich Van Winkle was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Pasadena Bumblebees. Van Winkle went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ryan Sartore, now 2-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. After losing, Indianapolis is 12-13.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jaden Sims in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 19-year old left-handed pitcher David Lewis to win the game for Pasadena. The home crowd went nuts.

"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Sims. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
