Firebirds Throttled by Ambition, 10-1
|
Indianapolis took on Albany in front of a lively crowd.
Pitcher Leo Kirk was rock solid in helping the Indianapolis Ambition beat the Albany Firebirds, 10-1. Kirk, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing 1 run.
Indianapolis used a clutch at-bat from Ross Lane to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Ambition ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It's nice to get the results when you're feeling good and throwing the ball well," said Kirk after the game.
Early on, the Ambition, at 18-6, have played an impressive brand of baseball.
