The Calgary Cowboys picked up a win at The Carrier Dome, downing the Tallahassee Captains, 4-3. On the mound for Calgary was left-hander Josh Caldwell, who played a pivotal role in the win. Tallahassee is 20-10 after the defeat.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Gerald Lambruschini to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cowboys on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Tallahassee manager Luis Sánchez. "But we decided not to take it."
