Joplin Fireballs starter Nate Lefkowitz kept the Antioch Coal Miners hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Lefkowitz, now 1-3. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. Antioch falls to 17-15.

Matt Harloff had a big 3-run home run for the Fireballs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Joplin leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Steve Beauregard, who is tied for 3rd in the TAAA in quality starts with 4, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Fireballs on top, 6-1.

"I believe in our guys," said Joplin skipper Daniel Petro. "I like the energy they're playing with."
