Ambition Slap 4-1 Loss on Captains
|
Indianapolis pitcher Tom Corfield had a large part in his team beating the Tallahassee Captains, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Corfield, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. The Captains fall to 12-16 and continue their uneven start to the 2063 season.
Indianapolis used the timely hitting of Jimmy Cox to capture the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Ambition on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
In postgame remarks, Corfield hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
