In a low-scoring affair between the Albuquerque Cacti and the Calgary Cowboys, pitcher James McColl was the difference between victory and defeat. The Albuquerque left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Cacti win. McColl got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 2 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. Dusty Dillard collected save number 2.

Albuquerque pinch hitter Jason Chaney helped the Cacti go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Chaney hit a run-scoring single off Calgary pitcher Bobby Mendoza.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Calgary manager Thomas Hughes. "We just didn't cash in."

The win elevated the Cacti to 19-18.
