Bowling Green Gets 3-1 Road Win
|
The Bowling Green Racers banked on Alex Blanco and he turned in a masterful performance. The left-hander kept the Fort Worth hitters in check. The final score was 3-1, Racers. In 7 innings, Blanco surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Mark Huffer recorded the save, his 4th.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Chris Cruz? The Bowling Green right fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Racers on top, 3-0. For the game, Cruz had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Blanco.
The Racers saw their record improve to 9-29.
