Chicago beat Kansas City at Debris Field, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Brad Davidson. He was 3-3 with 2 doubles and was hit by a pitch. Joe Umlah nailed down his 8th save. The Tornadoes drop to 8-13, as their fitful start to the 2065 campaign continues.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Miguel Benavides? The 25-year old left fielder Benavides stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Chicago up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"If we keep winning the close games," Davidson said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
