The Pasadena Bumblebees bested the Joplin Fireballs by a score of 8-7, with first baseman Hugo Calvo getting the main credit. On the day, Calvo went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 for the Bumblebees. Ryan Sartore closed it out for his 10th save.

Had Mike Levine not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Levine hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Bumblebees.

Calvo told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
