Cats Rally Late to Nip Outlaws
Juan Tejeiro did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Baton Rouge Outlaws from being beaten, 8-7, to the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. Tejeiro went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The winner in relief was David Doss. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Nick Loyd, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.

The Cats beat the Outlaws in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Bryant Wight produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Brad Pecore, Wight gave his team the lead, 8-7, when he hit a run-scoring single.

"They beat us fair and square," Baton Rouge skipper Rick Childress said.

The win hiked the Fort Worth record to 19-15.
