Muskies Turn Back Indianapolis, 5-3
|
Madison Muskies left-hander Barry Ledgerwood pitched a good game against the Indianapolis Ambition at The Corral, leading his team to victory, 5-3. Tim Tate, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The save went to Ron Landerman, number 1 for him.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Chris Shell was at the plate when Madison scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Muskies to go in front, 4-3.
"Barry never lets off the gas," said Madison manager Daniel Breuer. "Good, bad, or ugly, he never gives in."
Madison is now 16-24, while Indianapolis is 18-22.
