Coal Miners Get 6-2 Win Versus Pasadena
Antioch turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jarrod Banta into a 6-2 triumph over the Pasadena Bumblebees at The Coal Mine. Banta, who is tied for 4th in the TAAA in complete games with 2, went the distance for Antioch. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. The Coal Miners go to 24-17, putting them second in the TML AAA Cito Gaston League.

Junior Leeney had a big 3-run home run for the Coal Miners in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Antioch leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a slider from Jim Rankin, who is tied for 10th in the TAAA with a 1.30 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Coal Miners on top, 5-0.

"I still think this team can play even better," Leeney told the Antioch News.
