Calgary got a big-time effort from pitcher Garrett Frankel, but it wasn't enough to keep the State College Swallowtails from winning the game, 4-3. Frankel threw 8.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Reliever Martin Butler picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Gary Selby took the loss. Steve Marasco recorded the save, his 9th.

State College relied on the bat of Diego Acevez to get the win. The third baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Swallowtails ahead, 4-3. For the game, Acevez had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.

Acevez attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
