Argonauts Need Extra Frames to Get Past Muskies
Though he had a terrific game, Claude Dumas could not prevent his team, the Madison Muskies, from absorbing a loss. Astoria won the game, 7-4. Dumas was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Walt MacNevin, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Astoria goes to 20-25, Madison to 18-26.

Astoria used a timely hit from Herb Harrison to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Argonauts ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Harrison.
