The Indianapolis Ambition cut down the Fairfield Flash by the score of 12-8, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Melvin Pena. Pena went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Ambition. Dan Esgro got the save, the 2nd for him this season. The Ambition raised their record to 22-18.

With Indianapolis leading 8-7 in the bottom of the seventh, Pena batted against Fairfield pitcher Tony Mireles. Pena hit a changeup to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Ambition on top, 11-7.
