The Minneapolis Freeze could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Manny Domenech into a win. Instead, the Hendersonville Hens prevailed, 5-0. Domenech threw 8.0 innings allowing 5 runs. Hendersonville reliever Bill Cavanagh was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Manny Domenech. The setback makes Minneapolis 19-20.

Hendersonville center fielder Tom Verbeek contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 40th hit of the season and put the Hens ahead, 3-0.
