Bumblebees Popped by Argonauts, 7-2
|
The Pasadena Bumblebees got a sterling performance from pitcher Mike Coker, but the Astoria Argonauts still prevailed, 7-2. Coker came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters. Reliever Mike Gibson picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Gary Mims, who is tied for 5th in the TAAA in quality starts with 5, took the loss. Astoria is now 22-26, Pasadena 27-22.
Astoria used the hitting of Nick Rausch to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Argonauts on top, 6-2. For the game, Rausch had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Rausch.
