Roberto Orellana, who is tied for 2nd in the TAAA in wins with 5, never let the Caterpillars get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Kodiaks to a win, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Orellana, now 5-2. He tossed 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Clay Clermont, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2060 draft, earned the save for Calgary.
In the top of the second, Travis Stiff delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Calgary second baseman hit a run-scoring single, putting the Kodiaks in front, 5-1.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Stiff.
Calgary now sports a record of 22-19.
