Maple got a big-time effort from pitcher Joe McGinnity, but it wasn't enough to keep the Buffalo Bison from winning the game, 3-2. McGinnity threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Steve Hoefling in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Walt MacNevin took the loss. The win takes Buffalo to 12-11.

Ruben Acevedo came through with a big-time hit for Buffalo. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"To not win that game stings a little bit," said Maple manager Aaron McKenna.
