Reno third baseman George Tufts contributed significantly to his team's 7-4 win over the Waimea Wind. Tufts went 3 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Raiders. The Raiders bumped their record to 31-26 with this win.

With Reno leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Tufts hit a run-scoring single off Waimea hurler Dave Ransom. It was the 47th hit of the season for Tufts and put his team ahead, 5-3.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Tufts told the Reno Bulletin.
