The Fairfield Flash defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 5-3, in RCL AAA action at The Ice Box. Fairfield pitcher Ray Lovelace had a standout performance. Fairfield now sits at 28-31, while Minneapolis falls to 28-30.

John Myers came through with a big-time hit for Fairfield. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Lovelace told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
