The Memphis Privateers soundly defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 11-2, at Privateers Grounds. Nick Simmons, who is tied for 9th in the RAAA in extra base hits with 26, let his bat do the talking. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Memphis. Kiyonobu Yamasaki Jr. went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits. The left-hander struck out 2 and walked 3. With the win, he ups his record to 2-7 this season. With the win over Peoria, the Privateers improved to 26-35.

With Memphis trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Simmons hit a fastball from Sergio Hernandez for a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Privateers ahead, 3-1.
