Flash Take Tight Tilt, 1-0
|
The Fairfield Flash downed the Pasadena Bumblebees, 1-0, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Fairfield pitcher Oscar Aviles definitely brought his A-game. Aviles picked up the win for Fairfield, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 4-5. Today's win puts Fairfield at 27-38, while Pasadena falls to 40-26.
Fairfield took a 1-0 lead on Chris Norton's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Norton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Pasadena pitcher George White visibly frustrated.
In postgame remarks, Norton hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
