The Calgary Cowboys had to overcome a fine effort from Joplin pitcher Juan Manzanares to win, 5-4, at Cowboys Field. Manzanares went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Calgary is now 41-25, 4½ games up in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.

Calgary got a knockout punch from Shawn Kelly. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Kelly.
