Karin Launches 2 Dingers, But Fairfield Wins
Fairfield and Pasadena exchanged punches and in the end the Flash won the slugfest.

Pasadena second baseman Xavier Karin pounded Fairfield Flash pitchers at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, but it was not enough to keep the Bumblebees from falling, 15-13. Karin went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Fairfield pitcher Mike Whittle earned the win, hiking his record to 5-3. Dustin Phillips suffered the loss.

Ken Mortimer aided the Fairfield cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the shortstop went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 3 walks, while scoring 3.

In postgame comments to the Fairfield Today, Mortimer said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The Flash now own a record of 32-36.
