Black Bears Solve Ambition, 5-4
|
Thunder Bay beat Indianapolis at Edgbaston, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Chris DeMoss. He was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Danny Logan, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-3. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 1. The save went to Bobby Boeckner, his 1st this season.
Early in the game, DeMoss had a grand slam home run for Thunder Bay. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Black Bears on top, 4-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," DeMoss told the Thunder Bay Herald.
The second-place Black Bears sport a record of 38-30.
