Streaking Caterpillars Win Another One, 7-5
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Peoria Caterpillars and Tallahassee Captains.

The Tallahassee Captains could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Kurtis Rumsey into a win. Instead, the Peoria Caterpillars prevailed, 7-5. Rumsey came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters. Gil Dial got credit for the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings. Russ Fought picked up the save, his 9th.

Ruben Lagunas had a big 2-run triple for the Caterpillars in the top of the fourth inning. With Peoria leading 4-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Tom Clow and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Caterpillars ahead, 6-2.

"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Leonard Lee.

The triumph puts Peoria at 38-29 for the season.
