The Calgary Hitmen earned a win at Mckinley Park, knocking off the Astoria Argonauts, 6-3. On the bump for Calgary was right-hander Dave Rivera. He had a starring role in the triumph. Rivera, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Eric Lewis locked down his 17th save.

Randy Parrell had a big bases-clearing double for the Hitmen in the bottom of the third inning. With Calgary leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Gomez Roches and swatted a double to left. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hitmen ahead, 4-0.

"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Rivera.

The Hitmen have an impressive 45-23 record.
