Tallahassee Loses Again
Peoria and Tallahassee played a hard-fought contest.

The Peoria Caterpillars, despite a fine performance by Tallahassee pitcher Danny Ortiz, grabbed a 3-1 win at The Carrier Dome. Ortiz allowed no runs over 5.1 innings. Ben Volpe picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Chris Correa suffered the loss. Russ Fought, who is tied for 5th in the TAAA in saves with 10, nailed down the save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Ritchie Turco? The 28-year old catcher Turco stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Peoria up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Watch and learn," said Turco. "This is what good pitching looks like."

The winning streak has now reached 7 games for Peoria.
