Warriors Pocket 8-6 Win Against Maple
The Walnut Creek Warriors withstood a fine game by Maple designated hitter Earl Bitner at Castlerock Field, to upend the Marauders, 8-6. Bitner hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Ray Clemens collected save number 10. Maple is 7-17 after the loss.

The Marauders had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Warriors going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old catcher Wally Cassell came to the plate. Cassell hit a 2-run home run on a 0-2 sinker from Maple hurler Danny Corona. It was Cassell's 1st home run of the year.

"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Cassell. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
