Ambition Earn 5-4 Win Versus Privateers
|
The Indianapolis Ambition topped the Memphis Privateers, 5-4, in TML AAA action at Privateers Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Indianapolis pitcher and Santa Catarina del Monte, Mexico, native Jesus Sanchez. Sanchez, now 2-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. David Lewis earned the save, his 10th, for the Ambition.
Art Long came through with a big-time hit for Indianapolis. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Said Indianapolis manager Zi-jun Gou: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The Ambition now have a record of 34-40 with the win over Memphis.
