Calgary 46-29 After Beating Coal Miners
|
Calgary Cowboys starter Warren Foradori pitched effectively against the Antioch Coal Miners at Cowboys Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 5-4 win. Foradori picked up the win for Calgary, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Roberto Mendez earned the save, his 4th in 5 tries.
The Cowboys got a big at-bat from center fielder Miguel Dorta. For the game, Dorta went 1-3 with a home run, while scoring 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Calgary a 2-1 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Antioch manager Jordan Hay.
