Flash Walk It Off for 30th Win of Season
The Fairfield Flash beat the Calgary Kodiaks in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 11-10, Flash. One of the hitting stars was first baseman Robby McDaniel. McDaniel was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Fairfield, at 30-50, holds down 5th place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old catcher Phil Frye had a real shot to win the game. Calgary pitcher Arturo Cendejas was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Frye hit a 2-run single. The Flash had a walk-off triumph.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Frye said.
