The Cozumel Beaches beat the Baton Rouge Outlaws, 8-6, at Coca Cola Stadium. Cozumel designated hitter Eddie Somers had the hot bat. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The 5th-place Outlaws dropped to 32-36.

Cozumel used the timely hitting of Jon Pyne to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Beaches on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Somers told the Cozumel Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
