Hens Win at Albuquerque, 7-3
|
Hendersonville beat Albuquerque in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Hendersonville Hens picked up a win at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, dropping the Albuquerque Cacti, 7-3. Cesar Gutierrez, who is tied for 2nd in the RAAA with a 3.12 ERA, was the difference-maker. Gutierrez, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 8.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Josh Bigrigg? The Hendersonville first baseman had a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Hens on top, 3-0. For the game, Bigrigg had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Gutierrez told the Hendersonville Times.
Hendersonville now sports a record of 48-21.
