Outlaws Earn 3-2 Win Versus Beaches
|
Tony Leija could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Cozumel Beaches lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Baton Rouge Outlaws at Coca Cola Stadium. Danny Siwek earned the save for Baton Rouge, his 1st of the year. The Outlaws raised their record to 33-37.
Chris Weeter found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cozumel hurler Tony Leija, the 18-year-old catcher grounded out, driving in 1 run. His 3rd RBI of the season put the Outlaws on top, 3-2.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Weeter said.
