In a low-scoring contest between the Indianapolis Ambition and the Tallahassee Captains, Will Witten was the X factor. The Indianapolis left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Witten, now 2-4, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The Ambition upped their record to 40-43.

Indianapolis used a well-timed hit by Nick Schroeder to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Ambition ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Luis Sánchez.
