Win Makes Amarillo 44-44
|
Amarillo Armadillos starter Bret Naughton found his groove in his team's 5-3 win over the Memphis Privateers. Naughton picked up the win for Amarillo, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Ashton Roberge earned the save, his 3rd, for the Armadillos.
John Tarr had a big 2-run home run for the Armadillos in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Amarillo leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Kirk Hunt and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Armadillos ahead, 5-1.
"I was hoping to make good contact," said Tarr. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."
The Armadillos raised their record to 44-44.
