Peoria Loses Again
The Bowling Green Racers beat the Peoria Caterpillars, 8-2, at Top of the Hill. Sam Young starred for Bowling Green. He was 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Dan Danner, the winner, goes to 1-6. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts over 6 innings. Joe Okocha closed it out for his 3rd save.

Jason Hansen had a big 2-run double for the Racers in the bottom of the first inning. With Bowling Green leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ricardo Gomez and swatted a double to left. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Racers ahead, 3-0.

"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Hansen.

The 4th-place Racers go to 47-43.
