Joplin had no answer for Tallahassee Captains starter Juan Hernandez, who flummoxed Fireballs hitters as the Captains cruised to victory, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Hernandez, now 6-5. He tossed 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 5. The Captains improved their record to 48-42 by beating Joplin.

Josh Webb drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances. He scored 2 times for Tallahassee. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Sean Lapinski. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.
