Brian Cranston knocked in 3 runs to help Joplin beat Indianapolis, 10-8. Cranston produced 2 singles and 1 home run. Joplin reliever Juan Sandoval snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Soria shouldered the loss. Orlando Sanchez closed the door for Joplin, picking up his 17th save of the year.

Joplin used the timely hitting of Jared Pytlak to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Fireballs on top, 9-7. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Pytlak, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
