The Calgary Cowboys picked up a win at Mckinley Park, knocking off the Calgary Hitmen, 5-3. On the mound for Calgary was left-hander Garrett Frankel. He played a key role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Frankel surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Danny Coyle locked down his 2nd save.
Calgary used the hitting of Chris Schwegler to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Cowboys on top, 2-0. For the game, Schwegler had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Schwegler told the Calgary Times.
The Cowboys move to 56-37 with the win, while the Hitmen drop to 61-32.
